Farmville Strategy With Crops, Trees, Flowers and Other Helpful Tips

FarmVille Strategy With Crops, Trees, Flowers and Other Helpful Tips

Select crops with big profits – Consider cost of the seeds versus the money you will earn from harvesting the crop. You can easily compare the profitability of crops by subtracting the cost of the seeds from the money you make from the harvest and dividing that value by the cost of the seed. This is also known as your return on investment or ROI. The greater the value, the better the return on your investment. Another factor to consider is the time it takes reach full growth for each crop. If you want to compare profitability of crops with different growth rates, you should take your ROI and divide it by the time to reach harvest. Of course if you want to get really specific and compare apples to apples, you’re going to need to take into account the yield you can get from a single area of farmland. For instance, the number or strawberries you may get from a single acre may not match that of oranges. Finally, you can also normalize this to consider the length of time that’s required before you can harvest a crop.

Plan crops around your schedule – Because different crops grow at different rates, you should choose seeds according to how much time you have to play. If you have a lot of time to play during the day, you can plant crops that take less time to reach full growth. If you have very little time to play during the day then you should choose grow crops that take a full day to reach full growth as you’ll have less time to check on them and more time to harvest them.

Buyer beware – Before you buy items, consider their resale value too. The resale value for some FarmVille items and equipment is poor compared to others. This may not be a such a big deal depending on how much money you have but it will likely be important in the beginning when cash it tight.

Play the daily raffle – This offers you a chance at winning between 10 and 100 coins a day but it’s completely random. You’ll have to decide if it’s worth your time or not.

Buy some trees and animals – These are a good investments in that you don’t have to replenish them like crops (i.e. buying seed and replanting). Trees and animals are long lasting and you can harvest them over and over again (i.e. chicken eggs).

Use a faster browser – Internet Explorer is commonly used to play FarmVille but it’s usually pretty slow to load pages. We suggest you use a much faster browser like Opera or Google Chrome.

Be generous – As pointed out previously, it is very important to help your neighbors and send gifts often as it benefits you both. That is, you earn experience points by helping them and gifting encourages them to reciprocate the act of helping and gifting to you!

Reconsider bragging – You don’t need to announce to the entire FarmVille community that you’ve been gifting or you just acquired another ribbon. In fact many FarmVille players find it quite annoying to see your gifts and ribbons filling up their news feeds. You can change the permissions for FarmVille and other games on Facebook as well as learn how to adjust your Facebook profile’s privacy settings using our Facebook Guide.

Befriend properly – When you request Facebook users to join you on FarmVille make sure you include the message “FarmVille” or “FarmVille add” so they know what the request if for. This is especially important if you don’t know the person in question.

Become a fan of FarmVille – Getting “pimped” by fan pages and groups on Facebook can help you quickly add many members to your FarmVille neighborhood. Increasing the number of FarmVille neighbors you have is the most important key to succeeding in the game. Adding more neighbors allows you to increase your farm by unlocking farm plots, gaining ribbons, earning experience points, and getting more FarmVille cash.

GodsWar Tips and Tricks: Finding the Hidden Treasures

GodsWar Tips and Tricks: Finding the Hidden Treasures

How to obtain a Treasure Map

Find the Random Quest Manager in the city square in each of the main cities to pick up random chained quests. The completion of the tenth quest in a quest-chain will earn you a Treasure Map, find the hidden treasures and possibly other mysterious goodies as additional rewards.

How to use the Treasure Map

Using a Treasure Map is not rocket science. You don't have to rack your brain trying to crack a secret code or decipher ancient glyphs. All that's required is to follow the location marked on the map. A simple click on the coordinates will even auto-track you right to the location of the hidden treasures and find them.

What can you collect?

An extensive collection of rare items can usually be found at the locations where treasure is stashed. You will find items such as valuable crystals and precious gems. So, if you're not exactly what we'd call a high-roller in the Item Mall, this is an great way to pick up rare and valuable items without breaking your budget.

Additional Tips and Tricks

Throughout this introduction to the Treasure maps, we've emphasized how easy it is to find. This is true, but getting away with the treasure is another story altogether. Once you are in the vicinity of the treasure, encountering Demons is almost a certainty. It's almost as if they can smell the greed and the gold. Defeat them to pick up additional treasure they may be carrying with them, as well as picking up large amounts of experience for your trouble. Possible drops include the Summoning Vessel, which can help you summon alliance forces to your aid when battling monsters or in a PvP duel. It will give you an distinct edge over your enemies, anywhere, anytime. Enjoy the game!

FrontierVille Storyline And Quest

The Storyline and Quests

There is a continuing storyline in the game. In the beginning, you are building up your plot so your wife or husband to be will come out West. As you proceed you will raise a family and continue to develop your farm.

FrontierVille Inn. You can collect a bonus from every building once every 24 hours!

You can build a whole community in FrontierVille, including a school, stores and an Inn.

In the later levels, we are promised a more all-round experience than FarmVille. Players will be rewarded for developing businesses like a general store. The more your farm specializes in any enterprise, the more you will need to interact with other players at the market and so on. I don’t think anyone has reached the later levels yet, so it will be interesting to see how things work out!

A lot of the quests revolve around the storyline. Early quests are related to getting ready for your spouse to join you. Later on, you are creating a whole community with stores, a school and inns.
You can only have four quests open at any one time. This might mean you miss out on any new, seasonal, quests so maybe three is a good number to chase at any one time.

PetVille Tips and Tricks: How To Get A Large Number Of Neighbors In Petville

How To Get A Large Number Of Neighbors In Petville

Getting a large number of PetVille neighbors is perhaps the most important aspect of the game, as they are a great source of coins and love points. The speed at which you level up is, for a large part, determined by the amount of neighbors you have. You need to invite all the friends you can - hopefully some of them will already be playing the game, otherwise you’ll just have to become an ambassador for PetVille and try to ‘sell’ the game to as many friends as possible. Hope you like this post. Enjoy your game!

Barn Buddy Tips: Watering Plants and Crops

Tips in Watering Plants and Crops

In Barn Buddy your plants never die, even when left for days after they are grown (very different from Farmville). Well, in case you were curious about watering plants, you will be happy to know that over watering or lack of water will not kill your crops. Although lack of watering will affect the number of the crop produced, it will not kill the plant all together.

I attempted to overwater my crops, seeing if it would flood the plant and kill it, but this did not happen either. I also wanted to find out if I could water my plants ahead of time to avoid them drying out when I could not get to them, but discovered that watering crops when they aren’t dried out has no effect on the timing of the crop drying out. Basically, for the best results of your crops, you have to continually visit your farm and check the health. I hope you like this post and please comment and share. Thanks!

FrontierVille Tips: Switching Game From FarmVille To FrontierVille

"FrontierVille is a family affair. You are growing kids and a community not just crops!"

If you are thinking of switching from FarmVille to FrontierVille, it is worth looking at the differences in the game play. In Farmville you grow crops, trees and animals to get XP and Coins. Crop Mastery gives bonuses for growing a crop a certain number of times.

FrontierVille is similar. There are crops, trees and animals again and these are at the heart of getting coins and XP. Instead of Crop Mastery- an element tacked on to Farmville by Zynga after several months- there are collections and quests. These give you long term goals with the ultimate prize of a full and bustling community, instead of just an isolated farm.

FrontierVille is much more structured because of the quests. You are obliged to explore every part of the game play, if you want to get ahead,

Should You Quit FarmVille for FrontierVille?

Quitting FarmVille for FrontierVille is something I would only do if you are very near the beginning of Farmville or very near the end. FrontierVille is a fun game but so is FarmVille. If you have invested a lot of time in FarmVille and you have a great and prosperous farm, see it through! FrontierVille will be waiting as new challenge for later. Zynga will have ironed out all the bugs in a few months too.

FarmVille Animals: Feeding The Chickens

FarmVille Animals: Feeding The Chickens

For a while now, it’s been possible to fertilize some of your neighbors’ crops when you make your daily visit to their farms. This gives you the benefit of an extra opportunity to pick up Experience Points and also makes their harvesting more profitable in the Experience Point category as well. Now there’s an extra task waiting for you when you stop by your neighbors’ farms, though, and that’s feeding the chickens.

Like fertilizing crops, feeding your neighbors’ chickens earns you a coin and Experience Point Bonus. However, it also provides you with the opportunity to discover Mystery Eggs with each feeding. And the more often the chickens in a given coop are fed, the more likely they are to produce Mystery Eggs. Of course, this means that your friends will be more likely to find Mystery Eggs as well, giving you more chances to hatch one. And even if you don’t find a Mystery Egg when you’re harvesting your coop after your friends have fed your chickens, you’re likely to come away with a hefty coin bonus.

The Ultimate FarmVille Strategy Guide

The Ultimate FarmVille Strategy Guide

In this FarmVille guide, we’ll not only cover the basics like how to play FarmVille but we’ll also discuss winning FarmVille strategies, how to get lots of coins, and great FarmVille tips to help you succeed in the game. We’ll continue to update this FarmVille guide as new FarmVille game features evolve and are released by Zynga. If you have any helpful tips, or strategies that are missing, let us know and we’ll update the guide to include them as well.

Farmville for Beginners

Customizing your FarmVille character – Upon starting FarmVille you’ll be presented with the opportunity to change the appearance of your FarmVille avatar. You can select different colors for his/her skin, hair, eyes, clothes, etc.

Moving your FarmVille character – You can make your character walk by clicking the arrow button and then clicking on the location on the screen where you want them to go.

Customizing your farm – In the beginning you’re given a very bland plot of FarmVille land. You can easily customize the look and feel of your farm by simply rearranging items.

How To Play Farmville

Plowing fields in FarmVille – When you first begin, you’ll need to plow your fields before you can plant crops. To do this, just select the hoe at the bottom of the screen. Then simply click on the field you’d like to plow. Once you’ve plowed all your fields you’re ready to plant crops.

Planting crops in Farmville – Go to the Market and click on the Seeds icon to select the type of seed you want to use. After choosing your seeds, plant them by clicking on one of your fields.

Harvesting crops in FarmVille – Once your crops are fully grown, you’ll need to harvest them. You can do this by selecting the harvesting tool and clicking on a field. Soon after harvesting your FarmVille crop you’ll receive some coins for your hard work.

Planting and harvesting other crops is very much the same but the time to harvest and profits vary according to the seed you choose. The higher the level required to buy a particular kind of seed, the more potential profit. An important thing to know is when to harvest your crops, especially if you’re growing different kinds. Make sure you harvest only when the crop reaches “full growth”; otherwise, you’ll receive a lot less coins.

Working the livestock – FarmVille is home to pigs, rabbits, sheep, cows, horses, chickens, and other livestock. FarmVille animals are much like the crops you harvest in that you’ll need to put in the work to raise them before they can produce goods (i.e. eggs, etc.). The costs associated with each type of livestock and the profits vary between animals. Once you’re reared your livestock you’ll be rewarded with some coins or FV notes for your hard work just like you’ll recieve after harvesting crops.

After you’ve earned some money from your farm you can go back to the Market and buy more seeds, equipment (i.e. vehicles), land, animals, trees, buildings, decorations, etc. to expand your farming operation.

Experience begets leveling – Experience points are awarded for doing such things as planting, plowing, helping FarmVille neighbors, and buying things. As you accumulate more experience points you’ll reach new levels in the game.

Getting ribbons – As you play FarmVille you’ll be awarded with ribbons for certain accomplishments. These ribbons can be published to your Facebook profile’s wall for your friends to see. We advise you to do this for only really big accomplishments however, as many Facebook friends and FarmVille neighbors find this to be very annoying.

Importance of neighbors – If you go to the “My Neighbors” page you’ll be able to see all your FarmVille neighbors. From there you’ll be able to invite and accept in invitations. Neighbors are important to have because they limit the amount of property you can buy. Thus it is important to keep inviting more friends to be able to increase the size of your farm and therefore make more FarmVille money.

Gifting to neighbors – You can send and receive gifts from your FarmVille friends which are usually in the form of animals or trees. Giving gifts to your FarmVille neighbors often is a great way to receive gifts as most players return the favor. Many times these gifts will be something you need and perhaps something you can’t afford to buy at the time!

Helping your neighbors – It’s important to visit and help your FarmVille neighbors from time to time as it encourages them to do the same. An added benefit is that you’ll earn experience points and FarmVille money.

Treasure Isle Tips: How To Acquire Gems

How To Acquire Gems on Treasure Isle

Gems are important to the game because you can't complete many islands without them. Tiki head statues will block your path and you must unlock them with gems of a certain color. Your gem tree will give you a gem of a specific color daily and the rest you must get from friends. So again just a tip, add friends who play Treasure Isle.

In the picture above you will see an orange gem tree on the right side of the island.

Each day you can visit each of your friends home islands and possibly collect a gem from their tree. You can also get gems in treasure chests sent to you by friends. The more Treasure Island friends you have, the higher the possibility of getting these chests.

Also when you are digging you will often find a collection of gems that you are prompted to share. You are also prompted to share all but one of the gems collected on your gem tree. When your friends share their gems it posts on the Facebook News Feed, so keep an eye on that and you can get gems. I often watch this feed and accumulate a lot of gems so that I have some stockpiled.

If you run across a Tiki Head that you cannot open because you do not have a gem of that of that color or "enough" gems of that color (some require multiple gems), then you can request that friends send you one. Your friends with a gem tree of that color can send you a gem of that color and usually one other color via the gifting area. While you wait, go work on another island.

Barn Buddy Helpful Information, Tips and Cheats

Barn Buddy Helpful Information

Barn Buddy is not the average farming application for Facebook. Although the premise is the same as most farming games, TheBroth developed Barn Buddy to take a completely different approach. Instead of growing crops for cash en masse, players start out with only six plots and will max out their farm at eighteen. Items such as decorations or animals can be purchased for the farm, but in a realistic fashion. The livestock is expensive enough to keep gamers from littering their farms with twenty cows.

Players have a more hands on role with their crops; in order to have a healthy harvest the plants must be watered, weeded and sprayed for bugs. Cute animations accompany every action taken in Barn Buddy. Although not as big as the Zynga games, Barn Buddy has approximately 6 million active users and is growing every day.

It's the little touches with Barn Buddy that truly sets it apart. Players can personally milk their cows, clean their pigs, collect eggs from their chickens and interact with all other aspects of the farm.

Barn Buddy Cheats

Free Dog Cheat

Although it is more of a Barn Buddy trick than a cheat, you are able to acquire a free guard dog in the game! In order to do so, you need to rally some friends. Invite 10 of your Facebook friends to join the Barn Buddy game; if they accept, then you will get a brand new dog for your Barn Buddy farm.

Barn Buddy Tips

Adding Weeds and Bugs for Experience Points

In order to make the most out of your gameplay on Barn Buddy, you need to have neighbors. They will be a big source of your XP, cash and vegetables. You can steal your neighbor's harvests or you can plan weeds and bugs. You can either choose to do this tip with a friend or you can make another Facebook account and act as your own neighbor.

In order to level up, add as many weeds as you can to your own Facebook account (or have your friend add as many weeds and bugs as they can to your fields). When you go to remove all of the weeds and bugs, you will get a substantial amount of points. This can be repeated as many times as necessary. Have fun leveling! Please comment below if you like this post! Thanks!

Treasure Isle Tips: How To Acquire Energy Points

How To Acquire Energy Points

When you begin playing Treasure Isle you start out with roughly 100 energy points. It requires 5 energy points to dig one square, 7 energy points to take a machete to a bush, tree, or rock, and 10 energy points to hack away at really big rocks. On or around your third map of islands (each map has around 7-8 islands) you will also encounter shrubs and rocks that are "multi-dig" and it requires 3 attempts to clear those spaces. As you advance in the game you do get more allotted energy. At level 23 for instance your energy allotment is 122 points. But regardless you need energy to play the game! As you can see in my screenshot above I had 6 out of 122 energy points when I took this screenshot. I had energy enough to dig in only one more spot.

Try to do theses things when you ran out of Energy...

When you run out of energy you can do several things like,

* Get fruit from your backpack (accumulated while digging, from your garden, and from friends). See below a garden with Pineapple at various stages of growth. Each pineapple plot is worth 15 energy points at harvest.

* Request or use an energy pack. This must be given to you by friends and it will completely refill your energy but you can only use one per day.

* Send a request to your friends for more fruit. If you have over 30 friends (the maximum number of requests you can send) then you must be selective and choose friends who are at higher levels. At level 15 and above you are able to send mangoes to your friends and they are worth 15 energy. Under level 15 and the max you can send is a fruit worth 5 energy. So be smart and ask the "right" friends.

* Level up to refill energy. This requires experience points but by visiting friends and doing odd jobs on their home islands you can earn 5 experience points per friend. That really adds up!

* Unlock the Tiki Head Statues that require gems. To unlock the tikis all you need is the gem or gems. You get 5 experience and no energy is expended so never leave an island due to lack of energy without first unlocking those tiki heads and getting the experience points. This can help you level up without expending energy.

* Blow up the rocks that require dynamite. To blow up specific rocks you need dynamite that costs 250 coins only. You do not need energy, so before you leave and island for lack of energy at least blow up these rocks and get the experience points that will hopefully enable you to level up faster.

* Get fruit from your friends by using the Facebook news feed. Sometimes while digging you come across baskets of fruit and you are prompted to share those with your friends. By keeping an eye on your Facebook feed you can often snag some fruit from your friends.

* Wait. Your energy refills one point for every 5 minutes that passes. After 25 minutes you would have 5 points and so forth. Sometimes your only option is to wait.

StarCraft 2 Tips and Tricks: Strategies Versus Zerg

Strategies Versus Zerg

Follow this useful strategies in battling against the Zerg in order to win the game.

  • Keep mobile and on the offensive. Turtling into your base against the Zerg will get you slaughtered in a hurry. Get your mechs onto the offensive at their base to keep your opponents hands tied.
  • Have a Raven traveling with all units on the move, this will ensure you can pick off creep tumors with ease en route.
  • Team up a Raven with a Banshee for some creep tumor patrols to help keep the Zerg off your doorstep.
  • Build and Expand towards the Zerg base, your units are painfully immobile in comparison to the Zerg armies but this can be combated by building wall upon wall of those clunky hard-hitting mechs and tanks between your bases. Building away from the Zerg base isn't going to save you any skin. They will come for you and they will overrun you with great ease if you aren't ready to cut their numbers on the way.
  • Stay a step ahead of the game and slow down the zegling rush. Build a wall protecting your base and mineral nodes by carefully placing your bunkers, barracks, and supply depots in a protective formation.

Hope you liked this tip, Enjoy!

Facebook's GodsWar Online MMO Strategy Guide

Facebook's GodsWar Online MMO Strategy Guide

Since free-to-play massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) like Maple Story and Dungeons and Dragons Eberron Unlimited gained popularity in the U.S., their similarities with Facebook games became crystal clear. Each are free to play and download, both have item shops that deal in real world currency, and finally, most are playable on a wide range of computers. In short, it was only a matter of time before the two worlds merged, and Godswar Online, developed by Kalydo and IGG, aims to do just that.

The two companies have brought the Grecian-themed MMO to Facebook using Kalydo technology, which allows complex 3D games to run directly in the browser without a full download. However, a small Java applet download is required to play Godswar Online. Do that and soon enough you'll be in the thick of an ancient war between Athens and Sparta complete with wizards, minotaurs and walking tree creatures. Alright, so none of that really happened, but it makes for a pretty robust, entertaining Facebook game.

Through and through, Godswar Online is an MMO. With customizable, full-3D characters, four playable classes (warriors, champions, priests and wizards) and full quest and combat systems, this game could be described as nothing else. Frankly, this is going to be a shock for folks who have only played games like FarmVille or FrontierVille seriously. While seasoned MMO players will have no issue with navigating the game, fully aware of common MMO tropes and tendencies, those new to this type of game might go cross-eyed from looking at the walls of text, the littered icons and randomly moving shapes that resemble children in battle armor.

And that's exactly why the Newbie Guide is here to help. A series of pop ups that tell players exactly what to do and where to click, it's pretty tough to get lost in this game with the Newbie Guide around. The guide will hold your hand as you complete quests, which are visible at any time by pressing the scroll icon on the bottom right of the screen. Quests are the primary mode of advancement in Godswar Online like in most MMOs, granting players precious Experience Points along with new armor, weapons and skills. Those will be extremely useful if not vital in combat with the various monsters of Godswar Online.

Ranging from your standard deer to vicious tree creatures and quaint pixie fairies, there are a ton of mythical beasts to slay in the world of Ancient Greece. Fighting enemies is simple enough, requiring a double click of an enemy. Aside from clicking on your various combat skills mapped to the center area on the bottom of your screen, your character will take care of the rest. While the combat may sound a bit dry, things will spice up as you gain more abilities and when monsters become more difficult to defeat, requiring you to team up with fellow players to defeat them.

All of this probably sounds somewhat daunting, so IGG and Kalydo included a feature in the game known as the Search function. In the text of any given quest and through the Search menu beneath the mini map, players can click on highlighted portion of text to cause their character to walk in the direction of the item, place, person or monster it refers to. Think of it as effortless navigation to nearly anywhere in the game. Better yet is an AFK, or away from keyboard, option. This setting, activated by clicking on the small crossed swords icon above the action bar lining the bottom of the screen, will automatically cause your character to endlessly attack monsters if he or she is surrounded by them. Just set the skills you want your avatar to use, select healing and mana (a resource used for skills) potions for automated use, and press "Start." Watch the Experience Points flow in.

Keep in mind that the entire game, including combat, occurs in real time. Just about everyone you see in the game is an actual player. However, this raises somewhat of a conundrum. Godswar Online, because it's successfully crossed genres, seems to be having trouble figuring out what it is. In the traditional sense of play time limitations, gifting and News Feed posts, this is not a social game. Though, with full blown guild (persistent groups of players with similar interests) support, the ability to add friends within the game and the need for adventuring parties to defeat larger monsters in real time, perhaps this is a social game in another sense.

In the sense that it allows for natural social connections through real time gameplay where players will face obstacles that require them to join forces. Players don't necessarily need friends to play Godswar Online, but at least they can make them on their own terms. Whether this type of game can survive on Facebook has yet to be seen, but Godswar Online certainly makes a strong first step in a potential new direction for social games--or whatever we're supposed to call them these days.
