Gangster City is a Facebook game developed by Playfish. Throughout our Gangster City strategy guide we’ll discuss important info such as how to play Gangster City, how to win money, and excellent Gangster City tips that should help you in the game. As Playfish introduces new items to the game we will frequently revise the Gangster City guide to accommodate and account for these changes. Gangster City for Beginners
Completing missions – When you first get started in Gangster City, you’ll be given missions to complete. When you complete missions, you earn money, experience points, and sometimes collections. So make sure you work hard to complete as many missions as you can to level up fast in Gangster City.
Where to go for missions – You’ll need to open your mini map to see where you can go to complete missions. On the mini map you will see several little blue dots. Click on those blue dots on your main map to see your missions. The mini map is located in the top right corner of your screen. You can click on the little yellow arrow to see the mini map. Once you click the arrow the large map will load on your screen. Then you can click the large map to bring up your missions box. From there you can select your mission.
What is energy? – Energy is required to complete missions. The minimum energy required is 10 when completing missions and if you don’t have enough energy, you will either have to wait for your energy to rebuild or you’ll need to purchase energy packs.
Getting more energy – You have two options to getting more energy in Gangster City. Your first option is to sit there and wait for your energy to rebuild. You will get one energy every minute. Within 10 minutes, you will have the minimum energy needed to complete some of the missions. Your second option is to buy energy packs from the Black Market. These energy packs however, can only be purchased with PlayFish Cash.
Buying energy – If you want to buy energy you’ll need to purchase some PlayFish Cash. Then click the shopping cart at the bottom of your screen. A box will pop up and you’ll need to select the Black Market option. A man will appear and let you know that you can buy anything you want from the black market as long as you have cash. In the bottom of the message, you will need to click continue to open the shop. Once the shop opens, you will see the two options for energy. You can buy one can of energy or you can buy three cans of energy. The one can of energy has 60 energies. Three cans has 180 energies. You can purchase the item of your choice by simply clicking on it.
Buying cars – You are only allowed to have one car at a time. If you buy a car and then buy another one later on, the old one will be in your equipment box. You must be on level 15 before you can buy your first car. Your first car will cost you $42,630. When you’re ready to purchase your car, click the shopping cart at the bottom of your screen. When the small box opens, click the Auto option. A message will pop up and you can select the continue button to open the shop. From there you can use the arrows to browse through the cars. When you find the one you want to purchase, click it. If the cars are gray and you can’t see them, that means you are not on the level required for that car.
Top screen items – You may have noticed four bars at the top of your screen. The first bar with the lightning icon is your energy bar. This bar shows how much energy you have. The bar beside that is your money bar. This is the bar with the green dollar sign. The money bar will show you how much money you have. The adjacent bar with the blue fish is your PlayFish cash. When you purchase cash, you will see how much you have in this bar. The next bar is your level bar or experience bar. This bar will tell you how much experience you have and how much you need to get to the next Gangster City level.
Buying property – Buying property is a plus in Gangster City. The more property you buy, the more income you will get. When you buy property, you will earn extra income. You must click the Get Money button to collect your income when it is ready. Beside your property, you will see a timer. This timer will let you know how much longer you will have to wait before you can collect your income.
To buy property, you will need to open your map by clicking the mini map. Then you will see the large map on your screen. On your map, you will see property that is for sale. Click on the property that you want to buy. When you click the property a box will open. In this box, you will see what level you will need to be on to make the purchase, how much the property costs, and how much income you will get. To buy it, click the Buy button. You will then see a box that asks you to order a family member to defend the property. You can click the square to select a family member. Then you can click the X to close the box. You can now see your property on the main map and it will show the timer on the map.
Investing in property – After you purchase property, you can invest in it to earn more income from it. To invest in property that you own, you will have to pay a certain amount of money and be on a certain level. The more you invest, the more money you will make from the property. To invest in your property, you will need to click the property you want to invest in. When the box opens, you will need to click the Invest button. A new box will open and you will see how much it will cost to invest. If you have the money to invest and are on the right level, by all means, invest. That will earn you more money.
Ordering family to defend property – If you have purchased property, you should consider assigning some of your family to protect it. To assign family, you will need to click the property that you want to assign someone too. When the box opens, click the square frame. That will open a list of family. You will then need to click the family member that you want to assign to that property. The family member will then appear in the frame and you can close your property box.
How to view your associates – To view your Gangster City associates, you will need to click the profile icons at the bottom of your screen. The associates man will have a brown and pink shirt on and the number to the right indicates how many associates you have.
Difference between associates and family members – You will have to decide who you want to use as associates and who you want to use as family members. Associates will give you more power when you are robbing someone. Family members will increase your defense and attack stats. You can also use family to protect your property and send them out to do jobs.
Buying weapons – There are two ways to buy weapons in Gangster City. You can buy them by going to the shop or you can buy them when you start a new mission. If you are starting a new mission and a weapon is required, you will see it in the left side of your box. From there, you can click the weapon to buy it. You can also click your shopping cart at the bottom of your screen and click the Weapons button. Then you can view the weapons and buy what you want.
Gangster City collections – Collections are things that you sometimes collect when you are completing missions. When you get all of the collections, you can submit them for a prize. To see the collections you have, you can click the treasure chest icon at the bottom of your screen.
Saving your game – You should always save your game before exiting it. At the top of your screen, you will see a disc icon. Click that icon and a box will open asking if you are sure you want to save it.
Bottom toolbar icons – Some of your icons discussed in this guide will not appear at the bottom of your screen until you have accomplished certain goals in the game. For example, your family jobs icon will not show until you assign family members. So, if you do not see some of the icons mentioned in this guide, just keep playing and eventually they will appear.
Bookmarking your game – For easy access to Gangster City, you can add it to your Facebook toolbar by bookmarking it. Simply click on the Add Bookmark button at the top of your screen and the link will be added to your Facebook toolbar. From then on all you’ll be able to access the game from any of the page on Facebook just by clicking on the Gangster City icon.
